While I was on maternity leave with my first baby, Carolina, I found myself on a frustrating hunt for cool headbands and bibs to jazz up her outfits, but kept struggling to find exactly what I was looking for. I decided to take things into my own hands and began to rustle up samples to see what would work.

My starting point for inspiration was a beautiful aguayo fabric I had picked up on a holiday in Northern Argentina, and which had now become Carolina's favourite blanket (incidentally, the name Wawas is the diminutive used to describe babies in that region).

Tapping into my knowledge as a fashion buyer, my aim was to create a wonderfully fun and creative range of products that families would treasure for years to come. I started making headbands and bibs and have now expanded to include gorgeous bow ties and fabulous blankets.

All our products are hand made in London. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Mama Tip

Often the biggest barrier to starting a business is our own fear of failure. My tip would be to embrace your idea and pursue it without worrying about other people's measure of success. If you enjoy what you are doing, it will work!
