Coco Blue Design

As a little girl my mum used to make dresses for me and my dolls and I guess that is where my love of textiles and sewing started. She taught me everything I know and I still go to her for advice and rope her in to help out when things get a bit busy. After school I went on to study fashion and after a 4 year degree started a career as a trainee fashion buyer in London. I worked my way up to be a buyer for 2 multi national companies buying menswear, ladies wear and then baby girls. After 10 years I decided to leave the rat race when I had my 1st son Harrison in 2013. I really loved just being mummy but I soon began to get itchy feet and started sewing and designing items for Harrison’s room. As friends and relatives had children, I made little gifts for them too. A friend put a pic on Facebook thanking me for a cushion I had made and it got quite a lot of interest so I thought, maybe I should set up a business page myself and see if I get any interest. Thankfully I did and so several cushions, bags, bunting and another baby boy later I am still able to sew for a living. I love being surrounded by fabrics, buttons and ribbons so feel very lucky to be able to do what I love and still be mum to my two little boys.
