  North Cornwall

I started making dresses for my daughters last summer, 2014. We had just relocated to the West Country and had a family wedding to go to, and after all of the moving costs I had to get creative to find dresses for my 3 girls! My family and friends were really supportive and encouraged me to set up a small business sewing children's clothes - so I did!

My Mum taught me to sew when I was young, and her Mum taught her, I hope to teach my children too, including my son! I was surprised by how much I enjoyed making little dresses, until last summer I had only really made curtains and taken up trousers. Now there are so many beautiful fabrics and patterns I find there aren't enough hours in a day, must stop waffling on and get back to the sewing machine!

Mama Tip

To keep my littluns happy whilst I sew, I keep all of my fabric scraps in a special bag for them and they like to make pictures with them. A bag of fabric scraps, a pile of paper, a glue stick and some felt tip pens and they're occupied for ages with very little mess! I have framed some of my eldest's pictures, they're lovely!
