small steps...

So, here it is. My first ever blog post. And the start of something big for me! Let me say hello and introduce myself. I'm mama G, 31, living in South West London and currently struggling with the work / life balance having just returned to work following the birth of my beautiful little boy, who I will call little Pippin - now 16 months. Little Pippin is the love of my life! Incidentally I have just goggled 'Pippin' as I actually had no idea what it meant and I stumbled across the following: 'when you think someone is cool and funny you call them Pippin' I feel this sums my little man up well. Back to why I am writing. So easy to be distracted even when he's in bed and fast asleep! I've been inspired by so many stories I have heard of fellow mamas taking the brave steps to leave their jobs and start something themselves in an effort to get the work / life balance that works for them. At this point I just want to say I have nothing but praise for mamas all around the world - no matter what their choice is (if they have a choice). I am not here to judge. I am just writing about my experiences and I think it's hugely important to remember everyone has their own story / their own reasons and their own struggles. So I'm sat at my desk one day at work and it hits me - this just isn't right for me. And I keep thinking for weeks and weeks there must be something I can do myself, to create the life I want. And I finally stumble across an idea!!! YAY!!! This blog is my journey to starting something special for me and my family. The brave step that I feel I need to take. I am not sure how it's going to go but I am going to do it. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
