Handmade by Hattie was set up while I was on maternity leave with my 3rd child (an odd time to start something new perhaps!). I am now back at work as a Physiotherapist but wanted to set up something 'on the side' to indulge my creative side and I love the fact I can work on my products once the children are in bed (I have 2 sons aged 3 and 6 and a daughter aged 18 months). I adore finding new fabrics and get a real sense of satisfaction making the perfect finished article!
Don't take on too much! There are times when I have tried to juggle my work, this business and the children and life has felt out of control. Pace what you take on and work out what is realistic before saying yes!
