Marmalade Skies

I am a mum of three children, two boys and a girl and am fortunate enough to live in a beautiful but rather windy village on a hill in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

I was bought a sewing machine about 3 years ago for Christmas and went on a course to learn how to thread the machine up and how to do basic sewing. I have literally been hooked ever since and very soon we had so many cushions in our house it was suggested by my other half ‘maybe you should go and try to sell some of them!!’

I soon developed my own style of appliqué with freehand machine embroidery to create pictures with fabric and over time come up with a range of British animals and fauna and now present them on cushions and in frames. My inspiration can come from anything from a gorgeous piece of fabric, a picture I see in a magazine or a suggestion from a mum in the playground!!

I thoroughly enjoy what I do, releasing my creative side and love coming up with new designs. There just never seems to be quite enough hours in the day to create everything I have in my head!!

Mama Tip

Never give up if you believe in what you do.

Also appreciate that you are able to do something you love as well as being there for your children.

Oh and chocolate is good for bringing out creative thoughts!!
